Elysi – Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Elysi is a Chrome extension that helps users improve their skills directly inside tools like Google Docs, Excel Online/Sheets, Notion, Jupyter and other IDE’s. This policy explains what data we process, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Data We Process

When you use Elysi, we may process the following types of data:

  • Document and spreadsheet content
    Text and other content from the active page (for example, a Google Doc or Excel Online sheet) that you choose to analyze with Elysi. This is used solely to generate feedback and suggestions.

  • Usage information
    Information about how you interact with the extension, such as when you click “analyze,” which modes you select, and basic technical details (browser version, error logs). This helps us improve reliability and user experience.

  • Log data and IP address
    Our servers and hosting providers may automatically log standard information such as IP address and request metadata for security, rate limiting, and debugging.

We do not intentionally collect passwords or authentication credentials and we do not require you to create an Elysi account at this stage.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data described above to:

  • Analyze the active document or sheet and return AI-generated feedback.

  • Provide personalized coaching features (for example, different feedback modes).

  • Maintain and improve the performance, security, and reliability of Elysi.

  • Diagnose and fix bugs or service interruptions.

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or to show you targeted ads.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data.
We do not share user data with third parties except:

  • With infrastructure and service providers (for example, cloud hosting, logging, or AI model providers) that help us operate Elysi. These providers are contractually required to handle data securely and only for our specified purposes.

  • When required by law, legal process, or to protect our users and services.

5. Data Retention

Document and sheet content sent to Elysi is processed to generate feedback and is not stored longer than necessary to provide the response and maintain basic logs. We may retain anonymized or aggregated data (which cannot reasonably be used to identify you) for analytics and service improvement.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including HTTPS for data in transit and restricted access to our backend systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices

  • You can disable the extension or remove it from Chrome at any time.

  • You can control which pages Elysi can access through your browser’s extension settings.

  • Avoid sending highly sensitive information through Elysi if you are not comfortable with it being processed by our systems.

8. Children’s Privacy

Elysi is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top when we do. Continued use of Elysi after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
